A new edition of FITUR, the International Tourism Fair, took place between May 19 and 23, one of the most important meetings for the sector, which the IFEMA fairground recovers after the stoppage imposed by the pandemic.

For the fourth year, the Teatro Real participated in this essential cultural event of the city and the country and it will do so with its float, which has already paraded through the streets of Madrid in the Three Kings parade in January 2020.

The float is 16 meters long by 5.80 meters high, has two floors and weighs about five and a half tons. It simulates the stage of a theater – with its mouth, curtains and racks – and has been built from the transformation of a trailer truck like those usually used for the transport and storage of the set design, props and costumes for operas.

It is a huge mobile stage with an upper terrace that Fitur attendees will be able to access and which will be located in pavilion 9 in a space provided courtesy of Ifema in the Fitur Festivals & Events area.

The Royal Theater float, which can reach all parts of mainland Spain, is one of the key projects of the Cerca de Ti initiative, approved by the Council of Ministers as an Event of Exceptional Public Interest and valid from the current season until that of 2022-23.

The town councils that are interested in living the experience of this unique scenario can request it in the same float or in the Royal Theater.

It obtained the award for best Stand in the category of companies.

On October 12, 2021, it was used to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day, placing the float in the Plaza de Sol in Madrid and offering concerts to the public.
